And now, for your fantasy football entertainment, OMAFL Stats presents...

The Team that Any of You Could Have Drafted

Okay, so your fantasy football team sucks. And why? Because all the good players were taken before you had a chance to draft them. By the time you got your first pick, LaDainian Tomlinson and maybe Tom Brady were already gone. Heck, some of you never even had a shot at Reggie Bush! Let's face it. You never had a chance.

Bullshit!

As a special feature, OMAFL Stats presents: "The Team that Any of You Could Have Drafted." While it doesn't have Tomlinson, Brady, or Westbrook, this is the most kick-ass team I could assemble that anyone could have picked up for themselves on draft day. Ain't hindsight wonderful!

Round 1: Tony Romo - If you throw out the mutant performance that Tom Brady is having this year, you'd find that Romo is leading the rest of the league's QBs in fantasy points by a wide margin. (359 to Manning's 285 in third place.) And since he was drafted in round 2, any of you could have picked him up in round 1.

Round 2: Randy Moss - One of the big questions as the season began was whether the Patriots were getting RANDY MOSS of the Minnesota Vikings, or randy moss of the oakland raiders. Well, it turns out they got Randy Moss of Planet Krypton! And he was drafted in round 3, which means he was still available to anybody in round 2. (You see how this works now?)

Round 3: Marion Barber III - Time to start the run on running backs. Barber made this list last year, but much further down. He's got the sixth most points of any RB in the league this year, and was taken in round 4.

Round 4: Adrian Peterson (Vikings) -He's #3 in points among running backs this year, and was taken shortly after the likes of Thomas Jones and Edgerrin James. He went early in round 5.

Round 5: Jamal Lewis - Wait, that's a typo. Let me check that. No, that's right. Apparently Jamal Lewis is back from the dead, and his zombified corpse is feasting on the brains of opposing defenders. He's 5th among running backs in fantasy points this year (0.2 ahead of Barber) and was taken in round 6.

Round 6: Jason Witten - Yeah, Antonio Gates went early, but Witten was almost as good and wasn't taken until round 8. He's the second best point-getter among tight ends this year.

Round 7: Chris Cooley - Another holdover from last year's list, Cooley's fifth on the TE points list this year, and was also taken in round 8.

Round 8: Vikings - The top-scoring defense/special teams unit this year has been... the Vikings? Huh. And since they were taken in round 9, you could have had them in round 8.

Round 9: Braylon Edwards - Apparently the Browns' offense kind of took us by surprise this year. Edwards is the second of three Browns on this roster, because he's currently third among receivers in fantasy points. He was drafted in the tenth round.

Round 10: Wes Welker - Who doesn't love this guy and his musical family? Myron Floren, Bobby and Cissy, Arthur Duncan, Anacani, Norma Zimmer,.... Oops. wrong guy. Wes Welker is actually the sixth best scorer at wide receiver this year. He wasn't taken until round 14.

Round 11: Seahawks - Yep, the Seattle Seahawks' DST was the second highest scoring unit out there. They also went in round 14.

Round 12: Derek Anderson - Anderson is fourth among quarterbacks this year. I remember very clearly telling you all about Anderson on draft day. "Just watch," I said. "When week 1 rolls around, Frye is gonna get benched by halftime, traded by Tuesday, and Anderson is gonna come in and start putting up crazy numbers. Brady Quinn is never gonna see the field." Remember when I said that?

Round 13: Ryan Grant - Tough call here. Earnest Graham has better overall numbers for the season (he's 9th overall in RB points) but he's only been putting up good numbers for about the past seven weeks. And during that time, Ryan Grant has been averaging 102 yards per game and has five touchdowns. Call Graham 13a. Both were undrafted, of course.

Round 14: Mason Crosby - The top kicker in the league this year. Undrafted, of course.

So there you have it. This could have been your draft in September. Yes, we would have been gaping at you in astonishment then. But we'd also be gaping at you in astonishment now, for an entirely different reason.
