Spring 2007: Reading and Writing Schedule
Speech: Assignments and Rubrics
Speech #1: Speaking from manuscript: focus on physical and vocal delivery.
This speech will be short (the length of your first essay, approximately 3-5 minutes). It is a warm-up and practice for the longer, second speech you will give. It gives me an opportunity to provide initial feedback regarding two key areas: your physical and vocal presence.
Here is the rubric I will use.

Speech #2: Informative speech, extemporaneous delivery.
You will deliver a 5-7 minute speech, based on the research and writing you did for your third essay. This presentation should be a remediation of your essay--should include some sort of presentation technology (visual images, slides, etc) that you feel will enhance the delivery.
