Arthur H. Moss

Arthur H. Moss

Arthur joined the  Morningside College faculty in 1998 and teaches classes in acting, theatre history, drama literature, and stage combat. He also teaches in Morningside's First-Year Program.  Before coming to Morningside, Arthur served as a faculty member at Viterbo University, St. Mary's University, and St. Lawrence University.

He received his B.A. in theatre from the University of Wisconsin and his M.F.A. in acting from Trinity University, with concentrated study in Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Arthur was a company member with the Dallas Theatre Center, the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati, the Commonweal Theatre Company of Minnesota, and the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival.

He is a member of Actors' Equity Association and the Society of American Fight Directors(Advanced Actor/Combatant). He was a founding member of Siouxland Shakespeare Company, and directed A Midsummer Night's Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, and Taming of the Shrew.

Bette Skewis-Arnett

Bette Skewis-Arnett

Bette Skewis-Arnett is a professor, director, actress, and costume designer. She first arrived at Morningside College in 1977 as a student. She returned in 1987 as a professor, having graduated from University of Nebraska-Lincoln with her Master of Fine Arts in costume design. During her graduate program she worked with the Penn State Festival Theatre and the Santa Fe Opera.

Since coming to Morningside she has worked professionally as a costume designer with American Players Theatre, Nebraska Theatre Caravan, and the Nebraska Repertory Theatre. She has worked professionally as an actress with the Second Story Repertory in Seattle, Washington, and the Siouxland Shakespeare Company.

Her duties at the college include teaching acting, directing, stage make-up and costume design, supervising student workers in the costume shop and directing two shows a year.
