Physical therapy is a health profession which provides services to prevent, identify, assess, and correct movement dysfunctions. Our pre-professional program includes courses in biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, precalculus or calculus and statistics, as well as internship experiences required for admission to the accredited two-and-one-half year professional programs. Morningside is well positioned in Sioux City for physical therapy internships, with two major health centers and a sports medicine and orthopedics clinic.
A four-year degree and the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) are required for entrance into graduate programs in physical therapy. Recent Morningside graduates in this field have gone to the University of Iowa, Mayo School of Health Sciences, and St. Ambrose University.
