Morningside to host 5K run for injured wrestler |

Morningside has found a way to give back and get involved in the community by hosting a 5K run for the Build a House for Blake organization. Kalli Benne, a Morningside Junior, says, “I think that 5K run will be a great opportunity to help the Jorgensen Family in their time of need as it is challenging to go from playing sports to living life from a wheel chair.” (April 2) |

‘Sound science and moral values’ present problems for America and the GOP |

A couple weeks ago, President Obama signed an executive order that changed our country’s stem cell policy. This, according to CNN, will allow for increased federal money to go toward embryonic stem cell research. If you’re not interested in the issue of stem cells, then this move by President Obama may not seem like much. But in reality, it gets to the very heart and soul of the issues that will be facing the Republican Party over the next four or more years. (April 2)
Students need to be responsible when it comes to class

Sometimes, I think Peter Pan had the right idea. When I was a little child, all I wanted to do was "grow up." Now, it would be nice to be a little kid again. Since that just isn’t possible, we’ve all been spending years trying to figure out how to be adults. (April 2)

Hamilton has impressive debut, Graham earns GPAC honors |

The Morningside Tennis team has had some recent success, going 4-0 against Doane College and Midland Lutheran College this past Saturday. The men earned an 8-1 victory against both opponents, and the women had a hefty 6-3 win over the Doane Tigers, and barely notched the 5-4 win over the MLC Warriors. Dane Larson was the man of the day when he swept Jace Crist out of Doane 8-0 in singles competition. (April 2) |
| Lady ‘Stangs go 3-3 on week |

The softball season is in full swing and Morningside has delivered on its pre-season number one ranking. Morningside is now 15-12 overall and 5-1 in the GPAC, after going 1-1 in the doubleheader at Dordt on Wednesday. Morningside dominated the first contest, picking up the 9-1 win in six innings. Kelly Baumert was the force behind this win with 10 strikeouts, and only allowing two hits and one run. (April 2)

Ralphie May, a popular Comedy Central comedian, will be performing on campus on April 28 at 8:00 pm in Eppley, with doors opening at 7:30 pm.
