One week after barely escaping Midland Lutheran, the Morningside College football team found themselves in another lopsided home victory as they tore up the Doane Tigers 78-14. The team, now 8-0, is ranked nationally in the NAIA at the number four spot. The 78 points was the highest scoring day in college history since way back when in the 1930’s.

It’s been a solid week for the Mustangs as they move on to the semifinals of the GPAC Post-Season tournament after defeating Briar Cliff 2-0 for the first time since 2006. However, Morningside earned the number three seed in the GPAC after defeating Hastings College 1-0 in the last game of the regular season last Saturday. (Nov. 5)
By Kevin Pottebaum Brittany Williamson is a senior center from Ruthven, Iowa returning for her senior season for the Morningside Mustang girl’s basketball team. The Chemistry/Biology major is one of three girls returning as starters for the Mustangs that won the national championship last season, the Morningside girls started this season ranked #1 in the nation. The end was a fitting one for the Morningside women’s soccer team as they concluded their season with a 7-1 setback this past Saturday. It was a rough season for the Mustangs as they suffered through one of the hardest in recent history. (Nov. 5)

As the NAIA college wrestling season’s start fast approaches, the Morningside Mustangs team, coached by Tim Jager, has found there way into the preseason rankings. After an up and down season a year ago that led to a 9-6 dual team record the polls have Morningside sitting at 17th in the nation. (Nov. 5)
