  Freshman-only halls can be counterproductive

When I first came to Morningside as a freshman in 2007, I chose to live on a freshman hall.  I made this choice because I felt it would be better for my college experience during my first year.  But before I came to college, I did not really know what it would be like to live in a dorm building.  It’s true that I had come for a visit day and had spent a night in Dimmitt.  But my choice to live on a freshman hall was largely misguided. High School is over

High school was awful for me. Throughout most of my four years in high school, I didn’t even know who was or wasn’t in my class. At my high school graduation last May, I knew around half of the 120 people sitting on chairs on the gymnasium floor alongside me. (Nov. 12)
