  Morningsiders Attend Great Plains Annual Conference

The Great Plains Psychology Conference is an annual conference for psychology undergraduate and graduate students at school in the Midwest.  This year Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas hosted the event.  The Morningside College Psychology department finds that it is a great experience to go to psychology conferences, both big and small, and encourages everyone to go if they get a chance.

  Sioux City Roller Dames Create Buzz Around Siouxland

For many college students it has been years since they have roller bladed, and even longer since roller skating. Recently, Siouxland citizen Libby Claeys has brought roller skating back to the area in the form of roller derby. She is joined by Morningsiders Michaela Anderson and Kate Kes.

The Mock Trial team at Morningside has been very active in the past couple of years. They have traveled to and competed in many places. Recently, they competed at regionals where Jennifer Lyn Roemen showed her talent to the judges. Following regionals she received a “Best Attorney” award.

  Helping students transition to college: Orientation Student Assistants

Each fall a new class enters Morningside. These new students visit campus for registration and move into the halls before everyone else. During the four days before classes start the freshman students go through orientation. To help the new students through this process are Orientation Student Assistants, (OSAs). Being an OSA is a rewarding and exciting experience. Orientation Student Assistant applications for Orientation 2008 are now available.
