‘2012’ offers absurdity and action |
|
| |
By Jake Sandvick
I enjoy action flicks. I really do enjoy sitting back and letting a film take me away. When I think about action flicks, I don’t enjoy a complex plot, nor do I care about amazing dialogue. I enjoy a simple plot, absurd things that would never happen in real life, and decent computer-generated images (CGI). “2012” succeeds in being a great action flick, but it is not what people expected, nor wanted. Surpise! ‘New Moon’ isn’t terrible! |
|
| |
By AmandaFranzen
The craze of vampires, werewolves, and messy love triangles continues in the latest installment of the Twilight saga. The second film in the series, New Moon, is still not an award-winning film; however, it is a vast improvement over the first film in the series. The film is especially enjoyable if a person has a sense of humor. (Dec. 3)

|
|
| |
By Khan Rosenberger
Thrash metal masters Megadeth were formed in 1983 after guitarist Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica. Although Megadeth followed a similar blueprint, they took out the prog-rock influences and opted for a more riff-rock sound. (Dec. 3)

Hinder coming to Sioux City |
|
| |
By Jennifer Williams
Bands begin in mysterious ways, many of them starting as a group of friends just jamming in basements and garages. Sometimes, a small-time frat party can turn into something big. Hinder began after the boys in the band met up at a party and kept running into each other and jamming. (Nov. 19) |

'This is It' offers a great memorial to Jackson
|
|
| |
By Laura Homan
This would have been an amazing concert. The recent movie This is It is more a documentary of Michael Jackson’s concert that would have begun in London, England, in the summer of 2009 than an actual movie. Do not let this be a reason to not see it. It is an even better reason to see it. (Nov. 19) |

Morningside presents 'Agnes of God
|
|
| |
By Jake Sandvick
What happens when you put a psychiatrist, a nun, and an insane person in the same room for many hours? It gets worse: what if it was all women in the same room? Well, you write a script and call it “Agnes of God,” according to John Pielmeier. Our very own Theater Department is putting on a production of the famous play, “Agnes of God.”(Nov. 5)
