‘Agnes of God’ is a play that provokes you to think
  By Jake Sandvickut
What happens when you put a psychiatrist, a nun, and an insane person in the same room for many hours? It gets worse: what if it was all women in the same room? Well, you write a script and call it “Agnes of God,” according to John Pielmeier. Our very own Theater Department is putting on a production of the famous play, “Agnes of God.”(Nov. 5)

‘Paranormal Activity’ frightens with a low budget

By Khan Rosenberger
Although on the surface, Paranormal Activity looks like another crap shoot, like the Blair Witch Project, it is actually an interesting little fright flick. It gives you the impression at first that it going to be a sham. However, it then shocks you with many surprise scares. The film lures the viewer into a false sense of security by utilizing the tools of comedy and misdirection. (Nov. 5)

Diamond Thai has a reasonable price range, delicious food

By Greg Anderson
I’m sorry to say this, but old man winter is here. Sure, we might have had a few nice days in the beginning of November, but this is only because God thinks it’s funny to get our hopes up. Because of the cold, you might be looking for a nice place to escape. How about Thailand? (Nov. 5)

‘Kiosk’ editor returns from Texas with big idea

  By Laura Homan
Warm air flows through the doors of the hotel as a continuous flow of people stream into the lobby to check into their rooms. The coffee-scented lobby is already scattered with college students and advisers on their laptops. In various seating areas near the café, they chat amongst themselves with energy and excitement. New arrivals receive a key to a hotel room, then members of the mass head to the elevators, travelling up two floors. There, each person is given a nametag for the rest of the weekend. (Nov. 5)

Steel Panther offers fun, humor in its music
  ByKhan Rosenbergerut
The band Steel Panther on the surface seems like they are a band that forgot that the 80s hair-metal scene died. Their picture on the cover of the album would make Motley Crue and, Twisted Sister (my personal favorite from that movement) roll their eyes. But Steel Panther is a parody band that began in 2000.  (Oct. 8)

An inside look at the Spring Green trip

By Laura Homan
This past weekend was the English and Theater departments’ annual trip to Spring Green, Wisconsin, and, for the first time, I went along for the ride. I had heard about the trip for several years from both students and professors who recommended the experience. Despite the eight hour drive across the state of Iowa, rain, and the lack of a weekend for homework and relaxation, I am very glad I went. (Oct. 1)

La Fiesta offers a good atmosphere, but that's about it

By Greg Anderson
Hola amigos! This week I thought I’d head south of the border for some grub–all the way to South Sioux City, Nebraska. Anyone who has been to South Sioux will probably tell you it has a Latino vibe. So in search of some authentic Mexican cuisine, I went across the green bridge onto Dakota Avenue and stopped at the first Mexican restaurant I saw, which happened to be La Fiesta. (Oct. 1)
