Prof. Ross Fuglsang came to Morningside College in the fall of 1996. He teaches courses in newswriting, photojournalism, media history, and media law, and advises The Collegian Reporter, Morningside College's weekly student newspaper.

Prof. Fuglsang, a lifelong Iowan, has worked as a reporter, photographer and sports editor for weekly and daily newspapers. He received his masters degree in Journalism from Iowa State University and his PhD from the University of Iowa.

A dissertation examining how outlaw motorcycle clubs have been represented in various media since 1947 concluded Prof. Fuglsang's doctoral studies. The dissertation, "Motorcycle Menace," can be viewed on Dr. Fuglsang's website, along with selected source articles and photos.

Prof. Fuglsang is a member of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) and The Society for News Design (SND).
