PRIVATE INSTRUCTION

Age Requirements

Students ages 4-9 who are interested in starting on violin or cello may be eligible for our Early String Program. Piano students under the age of seven will be taken only with special consideration. Voice students must be at least 14 and will need to audition to be able to study through the Academy.

Performance Classes

Four times throughout the year students studying a variety of different instruments have the opportunity to play for each other in a less stressful setting. Please sign up through your teacher. Performance classes begin at 1:00 p.m. in Room 100.

Juries

Juries take place mid-December in the MacCollin Classroom Building. They are an opportunity for students to play a solo or etude for three of the Academy faculty members and receive written reports on their progress.

Recitals

Recitals for ALL students studying through the Academy are held near the end of the second session.   The Academy will provide accompanists at the rate of $25 if necessary. The fees will cover one rehearsal and the performance.
