Michele
Grossman
Michele Grossman, pianist, is a prominent collaborative and solo artist
with wide experience as a recitalist, chamber musician and accompanist.
A native of Iowa, Grossman began piano and violin studies at age six
with with her parents. She completed her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano
Performance at Indiana University. Michele earned her Master of Music degree
from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She has
accompanied in the violin studios of Dorothy DeLay, and Kurt Sassmannshaus
and for students in the renowned Starling Preparatory String Project. Michele
served as staff pianist at Ohio University from 2001-2003 and has also
been on staff at the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado.
Grossman and her brother, violinist Eric Grossman,
have performed more than 100 concerts in the United States and Europe
as The Grossman Duo. Engagements have included the Arco Festival in Orbec,
France, and a concert at Steinway Hall in New York.Their debut CD includes
performances of Ravel's Tzigane and Beethoven's Third Violin Sonaa.
Currently, Michele is the artistic consultant for the
Leo Kucinski Academy of Music, a preparatory school in Sioux City, Iowa,
and is on the faculty at Morningside College. This is her third year
as accompanist for the Omaha Symphonic Chorus.
