Marlene Grossman earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the Sherwood Music School in Chicago. Mrs. Grossman also studied at Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas and Chadron State Teachers College in Nebraska. Her teachers include Herbert Renison, Madame Celia Horworth, Isidor Buckhalter, and Sr. Mary Chrysystem. She has been a long-time teacher in the Sioux City area where her students have won Siouxland Introduces competitions, the Siouxland Youth Symphony Concerto Competition and the Cherokee Symphony competition. Marlene is the widow of John Grossman, for whom the Grossman Scholarship is named.
