Dr. Walker earned a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master of Music degree, also in flute performance, from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Her doctorate is music theory was completed at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She has also studied at the New England Conservatory of Music.
