Mr. Gary Fridley studied violin and viola with Leo Kucinski while a student at Morningside College.  After completing his degree, he pursued post graduate studies at the University of Iowa where he studied violin with Leopold LaFosse.  Mr. Fridley has also studied the Suzuki Method of String Instruction with Shinichi Suzuki himself at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.

Mr. Fridley taught for 31 years in the Sioux City Community Schools as a string teacher and orchestra director.  He was also the orchestra director and string specialist for the Cherokee, IA Community Schools and the Yankton, SD Community Schools for one year each.  Gary was on the staff of the Wayne State College Summer Music Camp as Orchestra Director for 13 years and was a member of the South Dakota Symphony for over eight years.

Mr. Fridley is currently a 41-year member of the Sioux City Symphony, a 30-year member of the Cherokee Symphony, and has maintained a private strings studio for over 25 years in Sioux City.  He is currently the violinist and director of the SilverStringS Quartet and organist at Mayflower United Church of Christ in Sioux City.
