Michele Grossman,
Piano

Michele Grossman, pianist, has acquired much success as a recitalist,
chamber musician and collaborative artist throughout the United States. A native of Iowa, Michele began piano and violin studies at age six with her parents. She completed a bachelor of music degree in piano performance at Indiana University. Michele then earned her master of music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and went on to be the collaborative pianist for the Starling Preparatory Program and served in the studios of Dorothy Delay and Kurt Sassmanshaus. She also toured with the Starling Orchestra in Europe and China.

From 2001-2003, Michele served as Staff Pianist at Ohio University and has been on staff at the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado. Ms. Grossman and her brother, violinist Eric Grossman, have performed more than 100 concerts in the United States and Europe as the Grossman Duo. Engagements have included performing at the Arco Festival in Orbec, France and a concert at Steinway Hall in New York. Eric’s debut CD included performance with Michele. Michele has also recorded for the MSR Classics label. Currently, Michele is serving as Artistic Director and on the piano faculty for the Leo Kucinski of Music. Michele is also pursuing a doctorate at the University of Iowa. As a teacher, she has taught piano atMorningside College, Western Iowa Tech, and the Feilin School of Piano in Iowa City.

 

Shannon Salyard,
Voice

Since returning to the Midwest in 2005, Shannon Salyards has performed as a soloist with Opera Omaha, the Omaha Symphony Chamber Orchestra, the Analog Arts Ensemble, Hastings (NE) Symphony Orchestra, Heartland Philharmonic Orchestra, Nebraska Choral Arts Society, and Nebraska Wind Symphony; in recital at The Joslyn Art Museum, Doane College, Hastings College, and the University of Nebraska at Omaha; and on both the Abendmusik and Arts for the Soul concert series’ in Lincoln, Nebraska. From 2001-2005, she lived in Boston and was featured as a soloist with the Arden String Quartet, Back Bay Chorale and Orchestra of Emmanuel Music (with whom she continues to enjoy annual re-engagement), the Boston Orpheus Ensemble, Boston University Choral Society, Brookline Chorus, Marsh Chapel Choir and Collegium, New Music Ensemble of Boston, and at the White Mountain Bach Festival in New Hampshire. shannon

Ms. Salyards is a member of NATS and holds faculty appointments at Doane College, Morningside, UNO, WIT, and the Leo Kucinski Academy of Music. She earned the BM in Voice Performance, magna cum laude, from St. Olaf College (where she appeared as a soloist with the world-renowned St. Olaf Choir many times) and the MM in Voice Performance from Boston University.
