Endorsement Program Requirements

 

Persons seeking an endorsement may, in most cases, satisfy the requirements with a combination of undergraduate and graduate hours.  A transcript analysis done by the licensure officer or other designated staff member will indicate which courses the student needs to complete Morningside’s approved endorsement program.

Prerequisites:

                            Hold elementary or secondary teaching certification 

Required coursework to be determined through transcript analysis:

Social studies, including American history, world history, and geography

6 hrs.

Mathematics, including algebra             

6 hrs.

Science, including life science and physical science

6 hrs.

Language arts, including grammar, composition, and speech  

6 hrs.

Required Courses:

EDUC 460G

Growth and Development of the Middle School Level Student

3 hrs.

EDUC 461G

Middle School Curriculum and Methods & Practicum

3 hrs.

 

Minimum Total Hours Required for the Endorsement                                   30 hrs.
