Dr. Stephen Coyne earned his B.A. from Catawba College, his M.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and then continued on to receive his Ph.D. from the University of Denver.
On the Morningside campus, Steve is the faculty advisor to the student literary magazine The Kiosk. He is also the coordinator of the Sioux City Readings Series.
He is a former journalist and an award-winning short story writer and poet. He has also researched and written about John Fenwick, founder of the first English-speaking colony in the Delaware Valley.
Outside of his work, Steve is an enthusiastic boater and sailor, exploring the Missouri River and its tributaries around Siouxland.
