Students can elect one of three emphasis areas in English: literature, writing, or English education. Every student will take a common core of English courses and then take additional courses to meet the emphasis area requirements. (Note: Children’s Literature, Adolescent Literature, Experiencing Literature, and Methods of Teaching English do not count as electives within the English major or minor.)
