What's Happening in Campus Ministry

Summer 2008

Plans and Preparation

Campus Ministry Retreat and New Student Orientation (August 21 - 24)

Get in on the planning for Campus Ministry for 2008/09!  Join us as we welcome new students to our campus by helping them move in on Friday, August 22nd, helping with Olympic-style games for new students on Saturday, August 23rd from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. (free meal included!), and then celebrating together in worship on Sunday morning (Buhler Outdoor Performance Center).  The Campus Ministry Retreat will be held during the first few weeks of the semester so that new students can participate!  Call or e-mail Pastor Kathy Olson (712-274-5148, olson@morningside.edu) for more information.

On-Campus Worship

If you would like to be a member of a team that will help to provide on-campus interdenominational worship experiences for all students, please contact Kathy Olson at (712) 274-5148 or olson@morningside.edu.  Special opportunities for musicians!

Morningside College Volunteers in Mission Team

A Volunteers in Mission team will travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa during the week of July 27th - August 1st to help with flood recovery.  If you're interested in going, contact Kathy Olson.  A team will also travel to the Gulf Coast during the spring break of 2009 to continue the work of hurricane recovery.  Some work, lots of fun - a great combination!  Spaces will be limited!  Sign up early!

Bible Study - Need a Bible?

Want to participate in or lead a Bible Study?  Free Bibles are available to all students through Campus Ministries.  See Kathy Olson (x5148 - Second Floor, Lewis Hall, Student Services Area).  Information about small group Bible Studies will be available at the beginning of the fall semester.

Discipleship Groups (DG's)

Want to stay strong in your faith while you're in college, but not sure that you can do it on your own?  Want a small group with whom you can be yourself (completely)?  Watch for more information about DG's coming soon!  Interested in starting a DG, need resources?  Contact Kathy Olson.
