Assistant Professor of Music -- Applied Brass and Dir. of Instrumental Jazz

Morningside College invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Music:  Applied Brass and Director of Instrumental Jazz, a tenure track appointment in the Department of Music.  Primary teaching responsibilities include applied brass lessons (in the candidate’s primary instrument), directing the jazz program, and music core curriculum courses according to the candidate’s background and interest.  The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to recruiting both on and off campus and will be a visible student recruiter for the entire music department.  Candidates should demonstrate a potential for excellence in teaching at the college level.  A doctorate at time of appointment is preferred (ABD considered); masters required. Questions about this position may be addressed to Dr. Gail Dooley, Chair, Music Department (712-274-5208 or dooley@morningside.edu).
