WHAT IS A MAC EVENT? 

MAC offers a variety of events free of charge to all current Morningside students.

Bands & Music Groups:  MAC offers several music events each year.  Whether it is a live band, a singer/songwriter, or an A Cappella group, there are musical events for everyone.  Some past events include Recycled Percussion, InPulse, Shevy Smith, and Anna Maria.

Comedians:  MAC offers a number of college touring comedians.  Some past performers include Ty Barnett, Rob Paravonian,

 Cary Judd, Jay Black, and Mission Improvable.

Cultural Events:  MAC works to bring students educational and entertaining events focused on culture, diversity, and heritage.  In the past MAC has celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month, Native American Heritage Month, Black History Month, and Women's History Month.  Some past events include Speaker Preacher Moss, Salsa Magic Latin Dance Party, and Native American Dancer Larry Yazzie

Educational Events:  MAC brings educational events to campus as well as fun entertainment.  MAC has hosted events such as Sex Signals and the Truth About MySpace and Facebook. 

Novelty Activities:  MAC hosts interactive novelty activities throughout the academic year.  Some past novelty activities include Wax Hands, Stuff-A-Bear, Inflatable Games, and Air Brush Tattoos.

Off Campus Events:  Most of MAC's events are on campus, however, MAC often arranges free or reduced admission to Sioux City events such as Art Splash, Musketeer Hockey Games, Sioux City Bandits Arena Football Games, and Ice Skating.  MAC also hosts Midnight Movies at a local movie theater.  Most movies shown are newly released in the theater.

Pack the Gym/Field/Mat/Pool:  MAC supports Morningside Athletics by hosting Pack the Gym events for Volleyball and Basketball; Pack the Field events for Soccer, Football, Baseball, and Softball; Pack the Mat for Wrestling; and Pack the Pool for Swimming.

Totally Original, Totally MAC:  MAC doesn't just bring in outside entertainers.  MAC members (Morningside Students) develop, promote, and host events that they created.  Some past events include the Gray's Anatomy Premier Party, Chocolate Tasting, BINGO, and the End of the Year Bash.
