Welcome
to Campus Ministries at Morningside College
Morningside College Campus Ministries welcomes all students
into a community of holistic learning and experience, as we seek ways
to connect our lives to God and to brothers and sisters in the local
and global community. We seek to provide opportunities that encourage
spiritual, personal, academic, and professional growth.
Church Relations
At Morningside College, the campus pastor/director of
Church Relations seeks to build and maintain relationships with not
only The United Methodist Church with whom the college is affiliated,
but with other communities of faith as well. We do this by building
relationships with pastors and congregations through shared worship,
spiritual formation, and service opportunities.
Our Affiliation with The United Methodist Church
From its earliest beginnings, Morningside College has been affiliated
with the Methodist Episcopal Church (now The United Methodist Church)
in an enduring relationship that has evolved from one of interdependence
to one of shared ministry, as we seek not only to affirm our roots, but
also to embrace the current focus of United Methodism on open hearts,
open minds, and open doors. In the mission statement of the college, “The
Morningside College experience cultivates a passion for life-long learning
and a dedication to ethical leadership and civic responsibility,” we
find a strong connection with the practical “heart and hand” Christianity
of John Wesley.
Pastoral Care and Counseling
The campus pastor at Morningside College keeps an open door for all students, faculty, and staff members of the Morningside
College community who are in need of a listening ear, open heart, and
open mind, providing pastoral care, as well as pastoral counseling, for those who are seeking spiritual discernment.
